Brazil and Indonesia have joined WWViews

3/10/2009

Indonesia and Brazil are joining us on September 26, 2009, which makes them the 41. and 42. nations to take part in a global citizen consultations in order to make the views of the public heard.

With an estimated population of around 237 million people, it is the world's fourth most populous country and the most populous Muslim-majority nation. With its many eartquakes and volcanos it is highly affected by climate change.

Our national partner in Indonesia is DML (Dana Mitra Lingkungan) - Resource Foundation for Environmental Partnership.

Along with the three other BRIC countries - Russia, India, and China - Brazil ensures the participation of the four largest growing and fast developing countries in the world.

The citizen consultation in Brazil is established in cooperation between two partners: Centre de Estudos em Sustentabilidade da EAESP and Observatório do Clima.
